Established in 2010, Baby Sumo opened its first outlet at Icon City, Bukit Mertajam before further branching out to South Bay Plaza, Penang in 2018 and Sunshine Square, Penang in the year 2020.
At the helm of our operations is owner and head chef Mr Tedrrie Tsng whom has a vast repertoire for Japanese, Chinese, and Western cuisine. Having trained in England for 5 years at various renowned restaurants, Tsng decided to open a restaurant of his own to fulfill his culinary dreams; and this is how Baby Sumo was born.
Baby Sumo is not your typical Japanese restaurant, as we serve a variety of Japanese and Fusion dishes. This is in line with Tsng’s desire to cater to the local taste buds and to ensure that there is something for everyone. Moreover, Baby Sumo is prized for its innovation and creativity when coming up with dishes as we have received awards such as the Business Inovative Award, Excellence Creative Award, IBF World Top Gourmet Award in 2017 and Consumer Award by our Malaysia Government.
Here at Baby Sumo, we strive to serve quality dishes with no compromise on quantity. Each dish is carefully prepared with the freshest ingredients and are reasonably portioned to fulfill the appetite of each diner.
